Let’s put our burnables into one pile

Rather than having multiple burn piles around town in residents own back yards we’ve made a common area available where a large pile can be collected and burned at a single time. When it is time to burn, we wait until the wind will be blowing away from the community for a 24 hour period (+/-) before lighting.

But Please Note — It is not a dump.
The community burn pile is only for branches and untreated/unpainted wood.  Please do not place the following in the burn pile:  furniture, mattresses, appliances, plastic, metal, aluminum, glass, Styrofoam, rubber, shingles, treated wood, or cardboard.  Please recycle your cardboard with our twice monthly recycling collection.

Please do not burn leaves, branches, and wood scraps in your yard.  If you have leaves, your neighbors may want to use them in their garden or contact CSC who can use them in the community garden area.

If you use a recreational fire pit, please do not leave it unattended, and extinguish the fire when it is no longer in use so that the smoldering smoke doesn’t bother your neighbors.  Also, please do not burn off the old, dead grass in your yard because it could get out of control and burn nearby structures.

Thank you,
Common Grounds Committee
