Garbage pickup is every Tuesday.  Recycling is every-other Tuesday. 
If there is a holiday on a Monday, then garbage and recycling will be on Wednesday instead of Tuesday.  You can double check the Recycling Schedule here.

RECYCLING: It is very important that your cans, bottles, jars, etc. are washed clean. 
If they are dirty, or if items that are not on the approved list are put into the recycling, then Republic will no longer collect our recycling. Here is a link to Republic Services basic recycling information.

When putting your cans out at the curb, please leave at least 2 feet between cans. 
The refuse truck has a large claw that grasps the cans so it needs room to reach between the cans.  Also make sure your cans aren’t placed right next to or behind a car or it could get scratched.  Place the cans where it’s easy for the truck’s claws to reach them.

NO CHARGE FOR EXTRA OR OVERSIZED ITEMS
IMPORTANT PICK-UP PROCEDURES:
Republic Services will pick up oversized items at NO CHARGE to Stelle residents. These items should be placed by the curb (not in a trash or recycling can) on the normally scheduled trash pick up day (Tuesdays). Additionally, these items cannot exceed 50 pounds or be longer than 4 feet in length. APPLIANCES AND ELECTRONICS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

To schedule an oversized item pickup, please call or text Ken Fisher at 847-878-3248 or the SCA office manager at 815-256-2200 48-hours before the normal trash pick-up day. Ken or the office manager will contact Republic Services to schedule the pick-up and then confirm with the homeowner.
