DIRECTIONS TO STELLE

Note:  We recommend not using online map services, such as Map Quest, because they often give inaccurate directions for our location. Also, it is best not to rely on the road numbers until you are within a few miles of Stelle because Stelle is located at the borders of Ford county and the road numbers change from county to county.

Traveling South on I-57 from Chicago

Take the Chebanse exit #302 (there's only one).  Go to the end of the off-ramp.  Make a right turn at the stop sign at the end of the off-ramp.  Go to the next stop sign and make another right turn.  Go to the next intersection, and make a left turn. This will take you over some railroad tracks, and continue on this road, due west out of town.  You'll go a long way over the open farmland (approx. 10 miles).  When you come to a stop sign (the first one since leaving Chebanse ), turn South (left). You will now be on 200E Road. Travel 3 miles to 3100N Road (twin blue silos across intersection from it), turn right (west) and go 3 more miles.  Stelle is on the south side of the road. Turn left into the entry (two large STELLE signs). 

Traveling North on I-57 from Champaign  

Take the Ashkum exit (293) and travel west on Rt. 116 for ~6 miles to the Herscher road.  (Look for Herscher sign.)  Turn right and go north 5 miles (one mile beyond first stop sign).  Turn left on county road 3100 N (twin blue silos across intersection from it) and head west 3 miles to Stelle.  Turn left into the entry (two large STELLE signs). 

Alternate Route Traveling North on I-57 from Champaign - Exiting at Clifton

Take the Clifton exit #297 (there's only one exit).  Turn left at the end of the off-ramp. Travel approximately 100 yards west to the stop sign and make a right turn which will take you into the town of Clifton.  Drive into the downtown, then turn left on Third Street. Follow Third Street over some railroad tracks, and continue on this road, due west out of town.  You'll go a long way over the open farmland and after about 6 miles there will be a short jog north in the road that will soon jog back to the west. About 10 miles from Clifton you will come to a stop sign (the first one since leaving Clifton). Turn right and go north one mile. Turn left on county road 3100 N (twin blue silos across intersection from it) and head west 3 miles to Stelle.  Turn left into the entry (two large STELLE signs).

Traveling South on I-55 from Chicago

Take Braidwood exit #238 (exits left from interstate), go south on Rt 129 to stop sign in downtown Braidwood (third stop sign after leaving I-55). Turn left onto Rt. 113, cross the railroad tracks then curve around until you leave Braidwood. Look for Essex sign on the right side of the road (~1 mile from Braidwood), and turn right there (to go to Essex ). The intersection to Essex is ~70 yards past the Essex road sign and is easy to miss in the dark since there are many trees and it is a 'T' intersection that only turns right. Continue on the Essex Road south for ~10 miles, all the way through Essex to Illinois Route 17 (check out the unique metal art on the right side of the road in Essex but be careful of the speed limit in Essex ). Essex road dead ends at Rt. 17. Turn left (east) on Rt. 17. Go ~1/3 mile east to Buckingham sign, turn right (south). Go south approximately 11 miles - through one stop sign, then the small town of Buckingham, then another stop sign, then 3 more miles until you reach 3800N Rd (don't be fooled by numbers on signs, they change as you enter different counties!). Turn east (left) onto 3800N Rd. Go 3/4 mile to Stelle. Turn right to enter by the two STELLE signs. (Warning: this route can be a challenge in winter when the snow is heavy.)

Traveling North on I-55 from Bloomington

Exit at #197 for Pontiac.  Travel east on Rt. 116 through Pontiac.  Continue east through the towns of Saunemin and Cullom.  After the intersection of Rt. 116 and Rt. 115, continue 2 more miles east to 1600 E.  Turn left and go north on 1600 E for 5 miles (one mile beyond first stop sign) to 3800 N.  Turn right on 3800 N and go 3/4 miles east to Stelle's entrance on the right.  Turn right to enter by the two STELLE signs.

Traveling South from I-39/Morris/Dwight area

Travel east out of Dwight on Ill. Rte 17. When ~2 miles past the small town of Reddick (~10 miles east of Dwight), turn right (south) at the sign for Cabery (it will be 8 miles to Cabery). Continue south past Cabery for three more miles until you reach 3800N  road.  Turn left (east) on 3800 N road and travel for 2.75 miles where you will find the entrance to Stelle on the right. Turn right to enter by the two STELLE signs.
