Growing from our origins as a private community and philosophical foundations of personal responsibility, lifelong education, positive attitude, cooperation and democracy, Stelle has evolved into an open community, that provides many opportunities for residents to interact, share and thrive together.

In our rural, north-central Illinois setting, the Community of Stelle offers a simpler lifestyle and a safe, family-oriented environment. Through optional cooperative groups such as our gardening cooperative, tool cooperative and even a dinner co-op, Stelle residents have created a family atmosphere to live and participate as much or as little as you wish, and yet maintain your own individual lifestyle.
